A working-class-turned-hip neighborhood in Vancouver, bordered by Cambie Street and Clark Drive, Mount Pleasant exudes a certain coolness — without even trying. Whether it’s to sample microbrews at 33 Acres, to thrift along Main Street, to refresh your waredrobe at Still Life, or to kick back in the artist-named Dude Chilling Park, the streets are always buzzing with life. A favorite among writers, creators, and young professionals, this high-traffic area is also home to some of Vancouver’s local indie shops. While most retailers are concentrated along Broadway between Cambie and Main, wandering pedestrians are rewarded with local gems scattered in the vicinity. Although considered a residential area, Mount Pleasant is easily accessed by bike or by the Broadway-City Hall skytrain line and is synonymous with a good time.
